SHAKESPEARE IN THE CITY
31 July – 3 August 2019
4 days of making theatre for 14-19s
Venue: Blake Studio, Norwich School, The Close,
Norwich NR1 4DD (next to Norwich Cathedral)
10am-3pm daily, £90 for the 4 days
New Stages is presenting a 4-day summer holiday course that will explore the most famous scenes from Shakespeare’s plays that will be performed in public locations around Norwich city centre. This is the first project of its kind and we’re very excited to bring Shakespeare to the streets of our fine city!
Working with theatre director Joseph Ballard, we’ll be making theatre together; brushing up on the plays, learning new performance styles, developing your confidence in acting and team work and making the most of an opportunity to bring the city centre to life with the most celebrated works in a very different way.
The experience will be great experience for your CV, progression with other performing opportunities plus college and university; and will give you a sound understanding of the background to and the performance of the language of the Bard. All sessions will be fun, fast-paced and will include drama games and workshops; from singing to stage combat!
